What we actually do
On most phones the screen is really three things bonded together — the glass, the touch layer under it, and the display itself. Which one broke changes the job, and that is the first thing we check.
You get a straight answer on what it needs, and a price, before anything is opened up.
Two things before you come: back it up if it still turns on, and bring your passcode. We need to unlock it afterwards to check touch, brightness and the front camera.
Signs it is the screen
- Cracks or spidering across the glass
- Areas that no longer respond to touch
- Lines, bands or blotches on the display
- Black screen, but it still rings or vibrates
- Ghost touches — it taps things by itself
- Backlight is on but the picture is not
Worth fixing, or not?
Sometimes it isn't, and we'll say so. If the phone is old, or the damage went past the screen, we would rather tell you at the counter than take the job and have you back in two months.

Prices vary from phone to phone, and by model. Posting one number here would get it wrong for most people reading it.
